*REVIEW* Open Road Summer by Emery Lord

Just absolutely what I needed to read right now! It’s like the universe send it my way.

You know when you’re going through a weird phase in your life, whether it has to do with relationships,or work or friends and you read a book and suddenly it just fixes everything?
Well, that’s what Open Road Summer did for me!

                               blurp
After breaking up with her bad-news boyfriend, Reagan O’Neill is ready to leave her rebellious ways behind. . . and her best friend, country superstar Lilah Montgomery, is nursing a broken heart of her own. Fortunately, Lilah’s 24-city tour is about to kick off, offering a perfect opportunity for a girls-only summer of break-up ballads and healing hearts. But when Matt Finch joins the tour as its opening act, his boy-next-door charm proves difficult for Reagan to resist, despite her vow to live a drama-free existence. This summer, Reagan and Lilah will navigate the ups and downs of fame and friendship as they come to see that giving your heart to the right person is always a risk worth taking. A fresh new voice in contemporary romance, Emery Lord’s gorgeous writing hits all the right notes.

This book is basically about Dee a Taylor Swift-y kind of musician who goes on tour with her best friend Reagan.
Dee is the sweetheart, the kindest person ever, always thinks about what people say, basically  a goodie good girl.
Reagan, well, Reagan is kind of the rebel. She’s been through a lot, just coming out of a relationship with the wrong person, she doesn’t trust anybody but Dee.
She is incredibly sarcastic, smart, challenging and an amazing friend to Dee.
open road summer

The whole story is from her POV.
Which is interesting, considering Dee is the “superstar” and “American’s Sweetheart”.
So the girls decide to go on Dee’s tour together, without parents, just with Peach, Dee’s aunt as a supervisor.
Dee is a photographer and thinks it’s a great opportunity for her to fill her portfolio as well.
Everything runs smoothly, until a “scandal” surfaces about Dee’s former relationship and that’s where Matt Finch comes in.
Cue THE SWOONING.

Matt is a well known musician, friend od Dee’s and comes in to save the day and avert the eyes of paparazzi and reporters from the scandal.
A heated love-hate relationship begins to form between Matt and Reagan, and that’s where the best part of the book begins.
I just adored their relationship!!
Reagan reminds me so much of myself so I was able to relate. It was not some cute-sy love story.
(Although ofcourse it had its cute moments but without it being cheesy.)
It was unique, fresh and realistic in it’s own way, beautifully written and smart.
I have to say though, that the story progressed in a way that was kinda predictable (at least to me)at about 80% in the book.
But it doesn’t matter because the book was well structured, fast paced and the characters had chemistry.
So if you need a book that will lift up your spirits, make you fall in love with a fictional character and follow the journey of a beautiful friendship, pick up Open Road Summer.
It’s one of those books that I definitely will reread, and recommend to everyone!
5 stars to the the story and the cover!

Maybe Someday by Colleen Hoover REVIEW

5 Amazing -screaming over the top of my lungs- fangirling stars!
What an awesome way to start my reading year!
First of all, just look at that cover. Just look at it. GAH! I’m a cover whOre what can I say! Very pleased with this one!17788403
Now let’s get to the good part.
I definitely didn’t think that Colleen Hoover could get any better at writing books. (She is already the best)
I guess I was wrong.
After the slammed and the Hopeless series, Colleen is coming back better than ever!
This heartwarming story about love, betrayal, loss and hope is propably her best work so far!
I love that she gets better and better every single time and I can be a witness to that.
The story is about Sydney, a 22 year old woman, who finds out after a 2 year relationship, that her boyfriend is cheating on her with her best friend.
Devastated, she finds refuge to the cute guy’s apartment, just opposite of hers.
Ridge is a musician and Sydney has been secretly listening to him playing guitar for some time, when Ridge desperately asks her to help him write lyrics because he is going through a terrible writer’s block.
That’s where it all starts.
I will not be posting ANY spoilers because this book is something you must read about and gasp, laugh, cry and curse out loud without knowing anything beforehand.
I was very impressed about how original this story was, because to tell you the absolute truth, when I read the blurp,I thought “Well it sounds good but not something I haven’t read before.”
I was again wrong.
You will gasp for air and you will wish about a love so selfless and strong.
Maybe….Someday.

FANGIRL BY RAINBOW ROWELL REVIEW

16068905
Okay! This book gets all the stars everywhere!
It deserves everything!

But just to go along with the “rules” it gets 5 out of 5 amazing stars.

The cover, is AMAZEBALLS! I mean look at it! Look at the colours, look at the drawings!
It definitely got me thinking that this was going to be a very interesting read.

It’s been 3 days since I finished reading the book, and I still don’t quite know what to say, because I don’t want to undersale it in any way.

This book was me . This book was people I know, friends I have,
my sister.
My social difficulties all inside one book. (they are a lot! lol)
I think It’s the very first time I relate to a character this much.

Cath is a freshman in college, she has a twin sister Wren, and they’re both completely different.
They got in the same University but Wren decided to live in another dorm room so she could meet new people. (Breaking Cath’s heart in the process)
Cath is the introvert. The bookworm. The Fangirl. She LOVES Simon Snow so much, she spends whole nights writing SS fanfiction.
She afraid to go out of her room even for food. She doesn’t really “like” or get people.

“I feel sorry for you, and I’m going to be your friend.”
“I don’t want to be your friend,” Cath said as sternly as she could. “I like that we’re not friends.”
“Me, too. I’m sorry you ruined it by being so pathetic.”

This is where Reagan steps up.
Reagan is Cath’s sassy, grumpy, hilarious roommate who becomes her only friend.
Together they help each other come out of their comfort zones and live a little differently.
I love Cath’s relationship with Reagan. It’s so entertaining!
Along with Reagan came Levi.
Levi is the sweetest, kindest character I think I’ve ever read about.

“You give away nice like it doesn’t cost you anything.”
― Cath to Levi.

And he really did. He smiled to everyone! From the people he knew, to the ones he just met.
He’s just one of those rare characters you can’t help but love.
He was always there for her even when he didn’t need her,but Cath didn’t understand that cause she thought Levi was Reagan’s boyfriend.
Yeah you guessed right. He wasn’t.

I adored all the Cath-Levi moments.
From the fights, to their reading sessions, to the first time they kissed.
They are so different and yet so,so alike!
He is propably the only person who didn’t try to change her at all.

“It’s okay if you’re crazy,” he said softly. “You don’t even know-”
“I don’t have to know,” he said. “I’m rooting for you.”

Finally, this book was a such an incredible read.
It was fandom, love, second chances, friendship, family, devotion and so much more.
It left me all warm and fuzzy inside!

The only thing I want is more!! I feel like there’s so much more to find out about these characters!
Rainbow Rowell do you hear me?
Please write another one!

If you’re a fangirl in any way, you’ll adore this one.
Until next time xoxo

Review of Hopeless by Collen Hoover

Image
5 out of 5 stars.
Cover is exquisite,Story is amazing.
I wish there were more stars, cause this book just deserves a whole fucking sky of them!
I just finished it,and I promised myself that I would review it right away, when my feelings
about it are still raw.
But I don’t know where to start.
Okay.

The story follows the life of Sky, a 17 year old girl, living with her adoptive mother,
who is kind of quirky in a way cause she “doesn’t believe in technology”
so no tv,no laptop, not even a phone for Sky.She is also homeschooled so the only connection to the
“real world” is her hanging out with her best friend Six,who lives across from her.
They are inseparable.
Sky goes through boyfriends, not for the reasons any girl her age would, but for other deeper issues.
Time goes by and Sky and Six convince Sky’s mother to let her go to public school for her senior year.
By the time Sky is enrolled and ready to start though,Six has an opportunity to go study abroad for a semester.
Even though it’s hard for both girls,Six decides to go.(With the blessing of Sky)
That’s when we meet Holder.
Holder is gorgeous and mysterious.
Sky had an interesting first encounter with him at the grocery store, when she caught him staring at her.
She immediatelly run out, then he followed her,and told her she reminds him of someone.
He weirdly asks for her ID and she gives it to him,and once he’s convinced she isn’t the one he thought she was,he storms off.
Later that day,she runs into him again, outside his house, after her run.
He is very kind to her, refilling her water and walking her home (where she passes out)
All the while he seems so worried for her,and Sky is intrigued by this mysterious boy with the conflicting emotions about her.
She talks to Six about him and Six shares some of the gossip that is going around about him.
Thinking he’s a bad guy,she decides to stay away from him,but it’s not easy.
So here begins the journey of Sky and Holder.
I’m not gonna get into more details because I don’t want to give anything away.

So my review.
The book as a whole was…wow.I literally have no words.Beautiful?Heartbreaking?
It seems like nothing fits really.
Until propably about 70% of it,it’s really fluffy, with a couple of flashes from Sky’s past, nothing too serious.
Why I didn’t say is that the book starts with a pretty intense flashback so the author is building up to that moment, and you keep expecting for something dramatic, but not something tragic.
But to me,what actually happened, once I realised the base of the story was tragic. I was shocked.
It gutted me.I literally had to put the book down several times cause it hurt too much.
It kind of hit close to home for me so it was hard.
But what I do know,is that the lessons I take from this book are endless.
I’m not saying anything else cause really I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone,it would be a shame.
So if you’re looking for a book that will easily go in your top 10 best reads of this year, please choose this one.
If you’re looking for something to inspire you, make you happy, sad, infuriated, make you lose all hope and then find it again, this is the book for you.
Pick it up.
Do it.

Thank you Colleen this was amazing.
Until next time. xoxo

Quotes:

“I want you to keep them open…because I need you to watch me give you the very last piece of my heart.”

“Fuck  all the firsts, Sky. The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers.”

“The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you’ve never felt anything when someone’s kissed you, then no one’s ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you.”
